Independence, OR - Vic Hall passed away in his home on Wednesday, December 18th at the age of 87. Vic was born in Portland, Oregon on June 18, 1937 to Herbert and Irma Hall, the first of two children.
Vic's family moved to the Willamette Valley, settling in the Monmouth-Independence area.
Vic attended both Central and Dallas High School, going on to enlist in the United States Navy in 1956. After returning home, he attended OCE (Western Oregon University) and worked at the Oregon State Hospital where he met his first wife, JoAnn Lund. They made their home in Salem where they welcomed their daughter, Kristen.
Vic married a second time to Claudia Braziel on August 28, 1975. Through this union he gained four stepchildren. Vic moved his family to a farm in the Salt Creek area where he raised rabbits and pigs. He was also an accountant and retired from Caterpillar in Dallas, Oregon after 23 years. Vic enjoyed remote control airplanes, boats, and firearms. He loved western movies and reading.
Surviving him are his wife, Claudia, and daughter Kristen (Ron) Henrie, his stepchildren Sheri Haffner, Lori (Ron) Hicks, Dan (Sarah) Braziel, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and stepson, Randy Braziel.
He was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family.
Services will be Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Restlawn Funeral Home in Salem. The viewing is at 12:00 pm with graveside services following at 1:00 pm.
