Steven Paul Wolfinbarger, a beloved partner, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 5, 2025. Born in Pomona, California, to Eldon Eldrid Wolfinbarger and Wanda Louise Schlais, Steve grew up in Montclair, California, and attended Montclair High School.
Known for his loyalty, humor, and willingness to help anyone in need, Steve lived life with a generous heart and a curious mind. He spent a few years as a traveling computer salesman, for many years he owned and operated Chevron and 76 Unocal gas stations. In 1991, he shifted careers to run A-1 Garage Door & Gutter, where he also supported the community by sponsoring numerous Boys and Girls Club teams.
Steve had a wide range of passions including RV camping, woodworking, RC boat racing, gardening, motorcycling, gold panning, fishing, and attending rodeos and concerts. He was a proud member of the North American Model Boat Association, the Willamette Valley Woodturners, and the Northwest Inventors Group, where he served on boards and earned accolades, including a 2nd Place Gas Mono trophy at the 2002 Emerald Cup.
A devoted member of Jefferson Baptist Church, Steve participated actively in church fundraisers and community events.
Steve is survived by his partner of 18 years, Kathy Mosbaugh; his son, Jeff of Scio; his daughter, Catherine Cooper and her husband Chris of Maple Valley, WA; his stepchildren Brian McNeill of McMinnville, Stephen and his wife Loretta of Upland, CA, Brian Mosbaugh of Moab, UT, and Christine Mosbaugh and her husband Steve Spurgeon of Albany; his brother Gary Patton of Havasu City, AZ; brother-in-law Leonard Jackson; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger, and his sister, Susan Jackson.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held on Friday, June 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memory Gardens & Funeral Home.
Steve will be remembered for his ingenuity, kindness, and his famous saying: "I'm 99.9% sure." His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the countless acts of kindness he gave freely.
