Stephen Amos Boles was born in Aurora, Illinois on October 22, 1943, to Amos and Jessie Boles. His family moved to Oregon when he was young, and he was a 1961 graduate of South Salem High School. He made Salem his home.
He was gifted with analyzing situations and figuring out how to fix and improve them, leading him to a long career in the trades and a member of UA local 290 Plumbers and Steamfitters for over 60 years. Steve often traveled to where the work was - Alaska pipeline, paper mills throughout the Pacific Northwest, oil refineries, power plants, and ships including the USS Nimitz. He invested in properties and built many houses - the family moved at least 13 times while they were growing up.
Steve was married to Bonnie Boles for 50 years and had two sons, Jeff and Matt. He loved his family and was so very proud of them. He loved the Oregon Coast, remodeling a home in Gleneden Beach that was the source of many family memories. An annual highlight was driving his decorated truck in the Gleneden Beach Parade on July 4, with his grandchildren tossing candy and celebrating our country.
Steve is survived by his sons, Jeff (Denyc) Boles and Matt (Kim) Boles, his grandchildren Maggie (Beeb), Michael, and Anna (Jon), Emma (David), Paige (Colton) and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother John (Judy) Boles, and sister-in-law Kathy Boles. Steve was preceded in death by his brother Matt Boles.
A graveside service for family will take place on June 2ND.
