Scott Eugene Fowler

Born in Salem Oregon to Gene and Charlene Fowler

Preceded in death by son Jason Scott, Great grand daughter Kenna Charlene, and his parents.

Scott grew up in the Four Corners area where he made many life long friends. He graduated

from South Salem High School.

Scott and Sue were married on July 1st 1977. They met in Salem through mutual friends.

He worked at Cascade Tire for 17 years and at Cap Chevy for about 10 years, both at the

downtown location and the Mission Street location. He also worked at Superior Torque

Converter and at Superior Transmission. He and his brother, Alan, opened Fowler Automotive in

1994. In 2011 personal and family health situations forced an early retirement. He continued to

take care of his parents till their passing.

He spent his retirement years spending time with his family, which was his favorite thing to do.

Whether he was known as "Honey, Dad, Papa, Scooter or Vern" to you, he loved to chat with

everyone, especially if it involved stories of salmon fishing, racing at Willamette Speedway,

Valsetz or his green '74 Dodge truck.

He was known as a strong man and someone who was always willing to help others with

obscure car problems.

He was dealt a raw deal with his many health problems but he just kept going when many would

have given up long ago. His goal was to get back to the beach 1 more time and to spend his

final days with his grand kids. Scott passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; kids Josh, Jeremy (Brenda) and Amanda (Elvis); Grandkids

MacKenzie (Jonathan), Cheyanne (Hunter), Jacob, Joseph (Evelyn), Madison, Cameron,

Chance, Sunaya and; Great Grand daughters Brinley and "K". Scott is also survived by his

Brother Alan (Denise) and many many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

There will be a funeral service for Scott at Restlawn Funeral Home, 201 N Oak Grove Road Salem, Or 97304 on August 1st at 2pm with a potluck reception immediately following the service. Scott would have wanted everyone to dress casual, nothing too fancy.
