He was born on May 26, 1950, in Santa Anita, Jalisco, Mexico, to Benigno Padilla-Gomez and Nicolasa Barba-Tejeda. Rigoberto's journey through life was marked by his unwavering commitment to family, his deep faith, and his zest for life.
Rigoberto spent his formative years in Santa Anita, where the love of his family instilled in him the values of hard work and generosity. These principles would guide him throughout his life, shaping him into the man his loved ones cherished. He moved to the United States to seek better opportunities, eventually establishing a successful career at Lippert/Power Gear, a manufacturing company that specializes in RV slideout mechanisms and leveling systems, where he dedicated almost 25 years of service.
Rigoberto was an active member of his community and an avid believer in his Catholic faith. His spirituality was a cornerstone of his life, influencing his interactions with others and nurturing his relationships. He was known for his good sense of humor, often filling the room with laughter and joy. Rigoberto had a remarkable ability to uplift those around him, making him a treasured friend and confidant.
A passionate cook, Rigoberto loved sharing meals with his family, bringing everyone together at the dinner table. His culinary skills were often the highlight of family gatherings. He also enjoyed spending his leisure time golfing and fishing, relishing the moments spent outdoors, whether on the green or by the water.
Rigoberto's legacy is carried on by his four beloved children: Nicolasa, Rigoberto, Alexandra, and Daniel. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Angelica, Juan, Luis, Rigoberto, Ezra, Isabella, Aria, Adriana, Alina, and Camila. His devotion to his family was evident in everything he did, from attending school events to celebrating milestones with his grandchildren. He was not just a father and grandfather; he was a guiding light, a source of wisdom and love.
Rigoberto Padilla was laid to rest at Restlawn Memory Gardens & Mausoleum in Salem Oregon. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved. May he rest in eternal peace.
