It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark C. Lindgren, who departed this world on October 5, 2025, at the age of 68, in Salem, Oregon. Born on September 10, 1957, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, Mark was a cherished son, devoted husband, loving father, and an inspiring figure to many.
Mark was the beloved son of LeRoy and Joice Martinne Lindgren, who preceded him in death. He grew up in a close-knit family that instilled in him strong values and a work ethic that he carried throughout his life. He graduated from McNary High School and went on to trade school, paving the way for a successful career in the construction industry.
On October 24, 1976, Mark married the love of his life, Wanda, a bond that would last for 32 beautiful years until her passing in 2008. Their love story began in junior high and blossomed through high school-a testament to their deep connection and commitment to one another. Together, they raised two children, Nicole Lindgren and Troy Lindgren.
Mark's career was as impressive as his personal life. He completed his apprenticeship with the Carpenters Union on July 1, 1981, and steadily ascended the ranks to become a General Superintendent for one of the country's largest and most respected commercial drywall contractors. After ten years in that role, Mark transitioned to project manager and estimator, dedicating the final 15 years of his career to mentoring others and ensuring quality work until his retirement in 2015.
Mark was known for his laid-back demeanor and his quick, witty sense of humor. Friends and family often joked about his colorful language, especially when he was working on cars or his Harley Davidson. He had a strong work ethic and, at times, a stubborn streak, but those who knew him loved him for his authenticity and compassion. Mark enjoyed spending his weekends working on home improvement projects or tending to his yard, often concluding the day with a barbecue surrounded by friends and family or watching classic movies. He had a deep appreciation for drawing and a love for classic rock music, along with the thrill of taking rides on his Harley. He especially enjoyed going fishing with his wife, Wanda, on their boat, cherishing those peaceful moments together on the water.
Mark is survived by his two children, daughter Nicole Lindgren, and her wife, Lissa Lindgren, son Troy Lindgren, and his cherished grandchildren, Zachary and Andrew Lindgren. He is also survived by his sister, Molly Mink, and her husband, Jerry Mink, his brother, Gary Lindgren, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will miss his warmth and humor.
A memorial service to celebrate Mark's life will be held at Restlawn Memory Gardens on October 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather and share their memories, honoring a man who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Mark's legacy of love, laughter, and hard work will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. He will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in peace.
