Inis Pugh, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in Salem, Oregon, at the age of 92. Born on May 26, 1933, in Grinnell, Iowa, Inis was the cherished daughter of Henry and Bonnie Alice Marcum. Her journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and an enduring commitment to her family and community.

Inis graduated from high school in Sweet Home, Oregon, and soon after embarked on a fulfilling life as a homemaker and mother. She dedicated herself to raising her two daughters, Linda Hamilton and Marlys

Pugh-Manley, instilling in them the values of kindness, strength, and love. Her family was her greatest joy, and she was blessed with grandsons James Hamilton, Jim, Jeremy, and Joshua Manley, who brought her immeasurable happiness.

On August 11, 1950, Inis married Jesse Pugh in Corvallis, Oregon. Their love story began when Jesse, a friend of her brother, came to help on the family farm. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, creating countless memories that would be cherished by their family.

Inis was a devoted member of the First Free Methodist Church, where she found strength and community. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her in her relationships and interactions with others. She was known for her unique laugh, a sound that brought joy to everyone around her. Inis had a remarkable ability to connect with people, drawing them in with her warm spirit and endless love.

Her hobbies reflected her nurturing heart. Inis had a passion for gardening, canning, cooking, crocheting, sewing, and quilting. Each stitch and each harvest was infused with love, and she took great pride in sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends. Her home was a gathering place filled with delicious aromas, beautiful crafts, and, most importantly, love.

Inis Pugh leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Hamilton and Marlys Pugh-Manley, and grandsons James Hamilton, Jim, Jeremy, and Joshua Manley, along with countless nieces, nephews, and family members who will carry her memory in their hearts.

In her final days, Inis would want to be remembered not just for her accomplishments but for the love she shared with those around her. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose spirit will live on in the hearts of her family.

A funeral service to celebrate Inis's life will be held on November 7, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Restlawn Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to come together to share their memories and honor the remarkable life of a woman who touched so many lives with her kindness and spirit.
