It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward Gray, who departed this life on November 15, 2025, at the age of 57. Edward was born on February 24, 1968, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Elmer Gray and Ollie Brown. He spent his formative years in a loving household, where family values and lifelong lessons shaped the compassionate man he became.
Edward grew up surrounded by his siblings, Ollie, Joe, Bill, Willie, Elmer, Lawrence, and Wendy, and cherished the close bonds they shared. He was not only a caring brother but also a devoted parent to his children: Jordan, Bryson, Desiree, Aaron and Latrell. Edward's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Ayla, Ariana, Jalen, Kylah, Zane, Laniah, and Jrayson, who will forever hold memories of their grandfather close to their hearts.
A proud graduate of Central High School in Independence, Oregon, Edward excelled both academically and athletically, participating in football and basketball. His passion for sports stayed with him throughout his life, as he found joy in playing basketball, watching various sports, and sharing those experiences with family and friends.
Professionally, Edward dedicated his life to helping others. His career took him through several meaningful roles, including positions at Hillcrest Youth Corrections, as a mentor, foster provider, and director of Gray Services. He was known for his unwavering commitment to those he served, always advocating for their welfare with compassion and respect.
Edward was a man of many interests. He enjoyed listening to music, playing video games, watching movies, driving his cars, and traveling to new places. He loved shopping and relished the joy of a night out with family and friends. His zest for life was infectious, and he embraced each moment with confidence and charm.
Those who knew Edward will remember him as a protective and influential figure, a charismatic individual who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a dedicated father, generous in spirit, and always welcomed those in need with open arms. His legacy is one of love, kindness, and a spirit that will never be forgotten.
Edward is preceded in death by his father Elmer Gray, mother Ollie Brown, siblings Elmer and Lawrence, and his son Aaron. He is survived by his loving siblings, children, and grandchildren, who will continue to honor his memory and the values he instilled in them.
A public memorial service will be held at Restlawn Funeral Home on November 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Edward's life, share stories, and remember the joy he brought to so many.
Though Edward may have departed from this world, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and compassion will live on through the countless lives he touched.
