Douglas George Abrames

Douglas George Abrames - a beloved son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend - passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, at the Life Care Center in McMinnville, Oregon. At 70 years old, he passed surrounded by his loving family.

On February 16, 1956, Doug was born to Merle and Shirley Abrames in Denver, Colorado. Over the years, he made his home in Brighton, Pueblo, Estes Park, and Loveland, Colorado, before moving to Willamina, Oregon, in 2018.

He graduated from Centennial High School in Pueblo, but forever proudly considered himself "always a Bulldog." He later attended the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo. Throughout his life, Doug believed in the importance of serving others and giving back to his community. In Colorado, he was an active member of the Jaycees in both Estes Park and Loveland and also belonged to the Knights of Columbus. After settling in Willamina, he generously volunteered at the Willamina Public Library and as a member of the town's Fourth of July Committee. While Doug thoroughly enjoyed volunteering his time, one of his proudest acts of service was being a regular blood donor. Time and again, Doug quietly gave the gift of life to people he would never

know, reflecting the generous and compassionate spirit that defined him.

Doug found happiness in the things he loved most - cheering on the Colorado Rockies & Denver Broncos, adding to his coin collection, and spending time with family and friends. These hobbies brought him great enjoyment, but the relationships he built throughout his life meant even more to him. If asked how he wished to be remembered, Doug's answer would have been simple: as a son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle.

Doug was a beautiful soul who was always kind and joyful. Those who knew him will remember his warm smile, gentle heart, and quiet generosity. Doug measured life not by recognition, but by kindness. Whether volunteering in his community, donating blood to help complete strangers, or simply sharing a smile, he quietly made the world a better place.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Shirley Abrames of Loveland, Colorado, and his brother, Tim Abrames of Loveland.

He is lovingly remembered by his brother, Stephen Abrames (Debbie) of Willamina, Oregon; his sister, Lisa Wahler (John) of Estes Park, Colorado; his niece, Robyn Hillebrand (Ben) of Oregon City, Oregon; his nephew, Christopher Abrames (Amanda Garza) of Lakeland, Florida; his niece, Nicole Abrames (Jeremy Manzanera)

of Clackamas, Oregon; his niece, Stefanie Glass of Willamina, Oregon; his niece, Rebecca McKnight (Jordyn) of Willamina, Oregon; his nephew, Justin Wahler of West Seattle, Washington; his niece, Jenna Wahler (Joseph Coleson) of Seattle, Washington; as well as several great-nieces and one great-nephew.

Though Doug's presence will be deeply missed, his kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family finds comfort in knowing that his life was one of dedicated service, enduring love, and genuine goodness.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at the Life Care Center in McMinnville for the kindness and care they provided to Doug.

A private family service will be held this fall to celebrate Doug's life and to lay him to rest alongside his brother, Tim.
