Daniel Peter Schell, 63, of Salem, Oregon, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026. Born on August 29, 1962, in Salem, Daniel lived a life marked by warmth, creativity, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved. A proud graduate of McNary High School, he built a successful career as a licensed Real Estate Broker and skilled Handyman, earning respect in his community for his integrity, craftsmanship, and generous spirit. Whether helping families find their dream homes or fixing what was broken, Daniel approached every task with dedication and a genuine desire to make life better for others.

His true passions were found in the quiet moments-carving intricate designs from wood, perfecting his golf swing, tending to his garden with care, and camping beneath the stars. Daniel was happiest outdoors, where his gentle spirit found peace and renewal.

Daniel's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his ex-wife Sheri Schell, his children Nicole Fry, Jacquelyn Hersha, and Jesse Schell, and his beloved grandchildren Gracie, Ava, Nyssa, Adelyn, Moriah, and Irvin, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. He is also survived by his big sister Katrina Wright and brother-in-law Charlie Wright, nieces and nephews Penny Wright-Bays, Stephanie Martin, Elizabeth Van Fossen, Joycee Wright, Amanda Mackey, Alex Carlson, and Aaron Carlson and their families, as well as his best friend for life, David Holman.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Zachary Schell and Joyce Jean Schell-Lorenz, stepfather Daniel Lorenz, sister Laura Carlson, and beloved daughter Brandi Lynn Schell, with whom he is now joyfully reunited.

Those who knew Daniel will forever remember his signature farewell-a hand raised in the air, fingers forming the sign language gesture for "I love you." It was more than a goodbye; it was a promise, a blessing, and a reminder of the love that connected him to everyone fortunate enough to know him. That silent message of love will continue to echo from the mountaintops into the hearts of his family and friends. Daniel lived as he often said-humble and kind.

Though our hearts ache with his passing, we take comfort knowing he would tell us, "See you on the other side." Until that day, may we honor his memory by waving our own silent "I love you" to the heavens.
