Connie Mae Murphy was born on July 24, 1944, in Salem, Oregon, and passed away on September 26, 2026, at the age of 82. A lifelong Salem-area resident, Connie graduated from Serra Catholic School and went on to build a life filled with family, friendship, and love.
Connie met her husband, Terry, at Berg's Grocery Store through mutual friends. Their meeting was the beginning of a good life together. Connie and Terry eventually married in Salem, creating a family and many memories along the way.
Connie worked as an administrative assistant for the Salem-Keizer School District until her retirement. She was also a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church.
Family was at the heart of everything Connie did. She loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, especially canning and making jelly together. She also enjoyed going to estate sales and gathering with family and friends. Connie had a generous spirit and was always willing to give her time, money, or a helping hand to those who needed it. Her kindness and love for others were simply part of who she was. Above all, Connie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first.
Connie is survived by her loving husband, Terry Murphy; her daughters, Lisa Murphy and Roxanne Rowland (Raleigh); her son, Andrew Murphy; and her brothers, Steve Ritchie (Susan) and Jack Ritchie (Linda).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Connie's memory to Doernbecher Children's Hospital, The Asher House, or the Humane Society.
Connie will be remembered for her generous heart, her love of family, and the care she showed to the people around her. Those who knew her will cherish the memories they made with her. She will truly be missed.
