Christine Bessie Parker-Delaney

September 28, 1957 — December 14, 2025

Christine Delaney was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Throughout her formative years, she had many homes, including Jackson, Mississippi; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Seattle, Washington; and, eventually, Dallas, Texas. Along with her siblings, she often enjoyed visiting her great 'Ain't Belle' and Uncle Watson in Jackson. Christine attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas.

Christine's first job was a travel agent position at Braniff Airlines in Dallas. Later, she found employment at Texas Instruments and continued to work in the technology industry for the remainder of her career. After TI, she began developing her Contact Center technology expertise at Nortel Networks. Owing to her love of the pacific northwest, she eventually relocated to Riddle, Oregon where she worked for several years at Genesys as a Senior Technical Instructor. Her final role was with Cogito Corp. as a Senior Enablement Consultant.

In her personal time, Christine enjoyed supporting the education of both her children and grandchildren. She was an avid pet owner and cared for several dachshunds, cats, and a bird over the years. Christine was an excellent cook, often toiling away on some delectable fried chicken, mashed potatoes, red beans and rice, an unbelievable banana bread, or countless other dishes that will never be replicated. She shared an ability in art and painting with her brother James. Christine was also a very skilled typist and could type over 100 words a minute. As a technology enthusiast, she was always excited to provide her children with TI calculators, laptops, and other tech items; often before they were commonplace in homes. Christine was a strong and independent woman. Her perseverance in the face of adversity was one of her greatest strengths and serves to inspire us daily, even in her absence. She loved traveling extensively, experiencing the grand tapestry of the many cultures that the world has to offer, and always strived to be present to support her family, no matter the cost to herself. Though she is no longer with us, her love, kindness, and spirit will remain in our hearts forever. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Chistine is preceded in death by her daughter, Natalie Ramirez; father, James Parker; brother, James Parker Jr; great aunt, Cebelle Hughes; and uncle, Watson Hughes. Christine is survived by her husband of 19 years, Bill Delaney; sons, Ivan Ramirez, Ashtin Ramirez, and Matthew Ramirez; grandchildren, Koriella Sheldon, Jax Sheldon, and Saylor Ramirez; mother, Hope Parker; and sister, Bobbye Whelan.
