Carol Ann Cook

July 22, 1945 — June 2, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol A. Cook, a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who left this world on June 2, 2025, at the age of 79. Carol was born on July 22, 1945, in Salem, Oregon, to Earnest and Verna Winn. She lived a life filled with generosity and love, leaving a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Carol graduated from Gervis High School, where she laid the foundation for a life marked by hard work and dedication. Her career spanned over 40 years at U.S. Bank, where her colleagues admired her unwavering commitment and warm spirit. Carol was not just a coworker; she was a friend to many, always ready to lend a hand or offer a kind word.

In November 1969, in the vibrant city of Reno, Nevada, Carol married the love of her life, James Cook. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Although James preceded her in death, Carol carried his memory with her throughout her life.

Carol's heart was as large as her many interests. She was an avid horse lover and treasured the time spent with her family playing games. Her knack for collecting salt and pepper shakers was a delightful quirk that brought joy to her home, and her passion for shopping and traveling enriched her life with countless adventures and cherished memories.

A true embodiment of kindness, Carol was actively involved with the Oregon Humane Society, reflecting her love for animals and her desire to help those in need. She was known for her generosity and willingness to assist others, always being there whenever someone needed a hand. These characteristics made her a wonderful mom, sister, and daughter, and she will be profoundly missed by all.

Carol is survived by her loving son, Melvin Cook; her devoted daughter, Tammy Rodriguez and her husband, David Rodriguez; her brother, John Winn; sister-in-law, Vicky Winn; cousin, Joan Henness; and nephew, Jacob Winn. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit and warmth in their hearts.

A private funeral service was held on June 6, 2025, allowing family to honor Carol's life in an intimate setting. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Oregon Humane Society, a cause that was dear to Carol's heart.

As we remember Carol A. Cook, let us celebrate her life, her unwavering love, and the joy she brought into the world. Her legacy will continue through her family and friends, who will honor her memory by embodying the kindness and generosity she so effortlessly displayed throughout her life. May she rest in peace, forever loved and forever remembered.
